1 year, baby!

Baby boy! You are going to be one in just a few days! Wow!

Here are some updates and pictures from this past month!

You are now walking everywhere! You often giggle as you are walking because you are having so much fun! You walk with your hands high in the air for balance. It is so stinking cute!! You like to hold our hands and walk around but sometimes you pull your hand away because you want to do it by yourself. Kaelyn likes to catch you too... although sometimes she lets you fall on your face... we are still trying to figure out if she is doing it on purpose haha. She's cheeky. You have your fair share of tormenting her too... today you were stealing her special Grammy blanket and making her squeal. Then you just giggled and giggled! She would take it from you and then you would grab it out of her hands while shrieking in delight. You are going to be a trouble maker!! ;-)

You also started climbing the stairs this month. Uh oh... mama's gotta stay on her toes now! I went to the bathroom for a few minutes and left you in the living room. When I came out, you were half way up the stairs! I almost had a heart attack!

You have recently been waking 1-2 times a night and are hard to settle back down. You just really like to cuddle and are not a fan of sleeping by yourself! I think it is also because of all the teeth you have been popping through! You now have 4 teeth on top and 2 on bottom and I think the ones on either side of the front teeth will be through any day now!

You love to clap your hands while we say "Yaaaay!" This brings you great delight and always makes you giggle. You also stick your hands in the air when you have finished eating and say "DA!" which means "All done!"

You say "mama" and "dada" all the time now. Sometimes if you are brought in our bed in the middle of the night you will pop your head over the covers and say "DA!!!!" I mostly have to nurse you in your room now because you get too distracted in our bed and want to go hang out with your Dad at 2am!

I love your chubby little feet, toes, and little fat crinkles in your arms and hands! You are still a big boy and all boy! You are about 23-24 pounds.

You love to hit things and climb on top of things. You love to jump on the bed and when I am not looking you climb on top of the dishwasher and bounce on the door! You also love to be thrown on the bed and thrown up into the air! You are also already into EVERYTHING! You are quite the curious one!

You had your first hair cut this month! Mommy is not going to keep your hair because I have nowhere to put it... but I took a picture! You had a rat tail and a really long cow-lick... it was time!

You LOVE to play peek-a-boo! See the video below! :-)

11 months! Almost 1!

Dear Liam,

You have grown SO MUCH in the past month!! Among some of your many new accomplishments... you took your first steps yesterday!!!! WOW!!! I will get some steps on video this week but yesterday you surprised us and we haven't gotten any pictures yet!! That is probably the biggest news, but you also do some other "tricks!"

-You started to wave this month!

-You are learning how to clap!

-We are teaching you how to raise your hands in the air when you are done eating and we say "ALL DONE!" You think this is pretty funny and like to lift your hands up with us.

-You still love to give kisses when Mommy and Daddy ask! You lean forward and plant a big open mouth kiss on us!

-You still giggle really easily. You love to be thrown in the air!

-You LOVE to walk with help from my finger and often giggle and shriek with delight while you are walking because you are having so much fun!

-You don't have a lot of fear! You are constantly bumping your head and falling down because you are quite bold in your movements and do things without thinking them through! This is new to me because Kaelyn was always so cautious with everything. You however are a bulldozer! Last night you would take a few steps and then just take a head dive right into my arms! It's a constant battle to keep you safe because of all the things you are pulling up on and your adventurous little spirit.

-You are now going to other people more easily now and seem to be getting over the "stranger anxiety." You love to study people's faces inquisitively and give shy smiles when you don't know someone. Sometimes you will cling to me a little and then bury your face in my shoulder if you are in a "shy" mood. SO CUTE!

-You popped quite a few teeth through this month! You now have three front teeth (working on the fourth one now) and two bottom teeth. You have the cutest little toothy grin!

-You still nurse all day every day and usually once in the night. As much as mommy would prefer you just eat fruits and veggies on the side... your favorite foods are still carbohydrates... bread with peanut butter and cheerios! You like to teethe on peppers, carrots, and apples. You also love all kinds of beans and cheese. You do like peas and corn, and you are not so much a fan of butternut squash. You like yogurt, taco meat, and lasagna!

-You sometimes sleep all night and wake up between 5-6:30. Other nights (I think nights where your gums are hurting or you just want some extra cuddles), you wake up once to eat at night and then go back down easily after 20 minutes or so.

10 months and counting!

Wow baby boy! Only 2 months and you will be one!!

 You are starting to show some interest in Sadie dog! She loves to give you kisses and you love to giggle about it!

 We spent a weekend up in Flagstaff at Aunt Donna's cabin. You had fun swinging in the hammock!

Somebody is up to no good! ;-)

You are crawling everywhere and into everything! You are very curious and much more bold with exploring than your sister! I have to keep my eyes on you at all times! :-) 

You now have your bottom two and top two teeth! Wahoo!

You say "mama" and "dada" pretty well and now also say "ba ba ba ba ba...." which means nothing ha ha but it is a new syllable for you!

You have started having more separation anxiety this month and do not like to be passed around anymore! You used to go to anyone but that is not the case anymore ha ha.

You LOOOOVE your Daddy and get so excited when he gets home! You get very upset if he does not pick you up first thing!

You have the biggest smiles and the cutest giggles! It is really easy to make you laugh! You think most things are funny. Especially weird noises and funny faces.

You are still waking up about once a night. I feed you and then you are typically back to sleep within 30ish minutes.

You have tried lots of new foods and pretty much eat anything that we are eating as long as it is soft and mushy (ish). You definitely show a preference for carbs ha ha. You really like honey nut cheerios! Mommy doesn't want you to like them because she doesn't want you to have much sugar but it keeps you really quiet in the grocery store!! ;-)

You like to be held most of the time and get pretty upset when you are put down. 

You are 24 pounds now which puts you in the 95th percentile for weight for a 10 month old! My little chunk!! :-) You have rolls for days and are super squishy and delicious.

Liam Scott, we are so blessed by you and love you so much! You are such a joy and a delight in our lives. We are so thankful for you!

9 months!

Happy 9 months baby Liam!!

Here are some updates from the past month!

One of the biggest development is that you have decided to cut 4 teeth at once this month! You currently have one on top, one on bottom, one poking through up on top, and one little bump getting ready to come through on the bottom! This has made you a bit fussier at times, but you are super cute when you fuss haha. You sometimes throw your head back dramatically and just make loud "uhhhhh uhhhhhhhhh huhuhuhuhuhuh" noises ha ha. It's really cute in such a pitiful way hehe.

You are also "crawling" everywhere! I use the term crawling loosely because you actually crawl on your belly... but you get wherever you want to go pretty quickly! You are also getting pretty good at pulling up on anything and everything! You pull up on my legs sometimes if I don't get to your needs quick enough!

You have had some nights where you wanted to get up and have a party for about an hour from 2-3am which has been pretty difficult (teething related I'm sure), but other than those few nights, you have been going down around 8pm and sleeping until 4 or 5am! Wahoo! Some mornings you even go back to sleep after you nurse for another hour or 2! This makes mama very very happy!!

You are a super eater! Not only are you a champion nurser but you eat sooooooo much. Not sure we can afford you!!! You pretty much eat anything we put in front of you (except bananas for some reason!) You like purees now, and also are really good at self feeding. Your favorite are mum-mums (rice husks), peanut butter toast, turkey breast, peas, corn, sweet potatoes, cheese, squash, and pancakes. You tolerate avocado, blueberries, strawberries and you like to teethe on cold carrots and cucumber slices!

You are very adventurous and love to explore! I have to keep my eye on you constantly! One morning I was doing dishes and I looked over to find you had pulled up on the trash can and had your mouth all over it.... then I went to help Kaelyn go to the bathroom in her little floor potty and when I went to help her wash her hands you made a dive for the potty! Yiiiiikes!!

You continue to be pretty easy and laid back (unless you are very tired or hungry of course!!). :-)

You are walking pretty well with hand support... I think you may be an early walker--we will see!

You really like water including bath time and splash pad adventures at the water parks!

You are a giggle MACHINE!! You are super ticklish under your neck and your thighs! Sometimes you even giggle as I change your diaper!

You give kisses now! It is SOOOO CUTE! If I put my face close to yours and pucker up and ask for a kiss, you lean forward and give me a big open mouth smackaroo! It's the best!

8 months, wow!

Dear Liam,

This year is flying by of course, and you have made some BIG changes this month!

You have starting eating quite a bit more solid food... pretty much whatever I put in front of you! You are quite the carb boy... I try to give you as many fruits and veggies as possible, but your favorites are rice cakes (called baby mum-mums) and toast!  I have recently been able to give you some purees which you have been resisting since you were about 6 months.  At first you just spit them back at me, but in the past couple of days you have eaten some pureed peaches and sweet potatoes.  You weren't too much of a fan of pureed carrots, although you did like cooked carrots that you could hold yourself! You much prefer to feed yourself, although I cannot get you to eat blueberries, strawberries, or cantaloupe.  Hmmmm.... are you going to be a picky eater?? We shall see!

You are moving ALL OVER THE PLACE now!  You are a champion army crawler, and you are starting to get your legs motoring too.  You can also get up on all fours and rock back and forth.  You are great at rolling all over the place and army crawling wherever you want to go! You also started pulling up on things this month... you can pull yourself to standing in your crib or on low surfaces... very scary for mommy! You already have received a couple of bruises here and there from being so active!
You LOOOOVE your big sister.  She loves to make you laugh and you really started playing together this month! She likes to give you toys and play peek a boo with you.  You giggle hysterically when she makes faces at you and she will do anything to try and make you laugh! She gets more laughs out of you than I do a lot of the time!

You also slept through the night a couple of times this month!! Mommy is SOOOOOO happy about this because she has more energy and is starting to feel more active!  Your sleeping has been pretty good for the most part this month, just waking up once or twice or not at all and then going right back to sleep.  Some mornings you even slept in until 7:00/7:30! WAHOOOO!!!! I know you don't care about this... but mommy does.... :-) :-) :-)

You are suuuuuuch a sweet cuddle bug.... just so snuggly and easy to love.  Everyone you come into contact with oooo's and ahhh's about how adorable you are.... everyone loves your cute whitish blonde hair and big blue eyes.... you are so easy to fall in love with!! Quite the charmer with your adorable little grin and chuckle!

You are still a big chubster weighing just 2 lbs less than your 2.5 year old sister!!  You are about 23 lbs now... BIG boy!! I love your chunky thighs, belly rolls, and I'm pretty sure that not one more oz of fat would fit on your fatty little feet!! You are so soft and squishy!! :-)

 I love you sweet boy!! You are a greater blessing than I could have ever imagined.  When I nurse you and cuddle you, my heart just about explodes every time.  Happy 8 months!

Happy 7 months to you!

Can't believe how fast this year is flying by and yet going slow at the same time!

Here are some updates from this month a few days early because we will be traveling next week on your 7 month birthday!

*You are just about ready to take off crawling!  You can pretty much get to where you want to go when you are motivated.  You roll around and scoot most of the time, but sometimes you get your knees working too!  You are very active and love to get your body moving.  You really don't like to sit still! You are very good at grabbing objects... you especially like grabbing plates and glasses off the table!

*We have tried some more foods... bananas, mangos, red peppers (just to chew on), oatmeal, and apple cores.  You definitely prefer feeding yourself rather than being spoon fed!  Which is also kind of ironic because your favorite "toy" is a big yellow plastic spoon that you chew on alllllll day long.

*You are still experimenting with your voice and I have heard you say "Ma," "Da," and your new one is "BA!" Your favorite syllables are DADADADADADADA.

*Your giggle is absolutely hilarious.  Such a cute little belly laugh!!

This pic kind of describes the month we've had with your sleep little buddy... you have had a minor cold and haven't been feeling so hot so your sleep has been a little crazy.  You also have decided you want to nurse all night every night so mommy and daddy are exhausted.  You love to cuddle though so I can't resist cuddling and snuggling you all night.  You are just the sweetest to smell and kiss and love on and I just love you to pieces!!  

We are getting ready to travel to Oregon on Sunday so you will get to go to the beach for the first time.  Can't wait to take pictures of those little piggies in the sand!  

Anyway, happy 7 months buddy!  Thank you for being such a sweet sweet blessing in my life. xo
